This is the 200th anniversary of the premire of the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven. This is more than ‘just a symphony’. To me one of the greatest artistic creations of anything. The Mona Lisa, Chartres Cathedral or Bayreaux Tapestry come to mind. Beethoven had been trying all his adult life to put Schiller’s Ode to Joy to music. And struggled to how to introduce singing into the symphony, the first time any composer had done so. And the Viennese public that thought that Beethoven had somewhat written himself out. But then this masterpiece came. Idealistic and full of Enlightenment thoughts, could be considered a non religious mass… less

USA security depends on its abilities to gather information. Information is key, ladies and gentlemen, and it could work to your advantage or disadvantage. See, all Mr. Assange did was publicized information that helped the USA's enemies, and in turn hurt USA citizens. All information you know about a target or a mission is critical information. Having said this, what happened? Where were the "hold the government accountable" chants? Where are the protests against war? Heck, most people don't know that Chelsea Manning was the one who provided many documents, and he just published them.
Having said all this. As a retired military veteran, the amount of information this man published, the lives of my brothers and sisters he compromised, not to mention, in the end, it only hurts the tax paying USA citizen. So, in conclusion. Hypothetically speaking, of course. If you want your pretty little life to continue and you see... less

Looking it through the view of USA's security, meaning to keep USA citizens safe, hard decisions have to be made. Surprisingly, this man is still alive, yet let us face it, there is a reason why.

I will talk cash money shit about the fucked up things that America does, but I would never jeopardize the security of the country and the men and women who protect it. Disagreement doesn't cause harm.

Thank you for serving and welcome home. The side of me that wants to protect the USA's security holds an immeasurable disdain for this man. The naive part of me, wants to see him free and live a happy life. I don't listen to my naive part.

This is what USA citizens forgot and are so far attached from, it is scary to imagine what would happen if the USA suffers a disaster event (universe forbid). The destruction, the loss of life, the uncertainty, the faces of children playing in the rubble seem so distant in this picture, yet it could happen anywhere at anytime.
FYI. Those holes in the vehicle are probably from ammunition paid by the USA government.
Some USA citizens are not even hiding their disdain and hatred for Hispanics anymore. This is your country at work, USA citizens. You must be so proud. House Bill 3133 (Ok) introduced by republicans.

First Native Americans and Blacks were the others when they needed free labor and land. The Mexicans living in the Southwest became the others when they wanted Texas. Then it was back to the Blacks and Native Americans in the latter part of the 19th century, the Irish, Italians and Jews in the early 20th century. The Japanese in the 40s, and now that Hispanic communities are growing anyone of that ancestry has become an other.

I agree, but America are two continents. Who you are really talking about are European Americans, correct? The land of the free is not that free, at least not for everyone. The USA is heading in the wrong direction in terms of equality for ALL.

Wow. I don't understand. What is this child going to do that her grown boyfriend can't do? Child predators do come in all forms, shapes, and sizes. Be vigilant with your kids.
I woke up one morning and Realized throughout the night I had this amazing epiphany. Winning no longer mattered to me, being on the right side meant everything.

As a retired military veteran, I find it very distasteful for a USA veteran to wear a foreign country's uniform, but I will defend his right to do so. An old saying comes to mind. We could be allies today, yet tomorrow we might not be. less

Russia, like a number of states, does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court and, accordingly, any decisions of this kind are null and void for the Russian Federation from the point of view of law."

I would bet ⅛ of a penny that this name doesn't sound familiar, Faye Glenn Abdellah (March 1919 - February 2017). Ladies and gentlemen, Dr. Abdellah is a USA born citizen with Algerian and Scottish roots, who is the reason healthcare has progressed. Yes, I know healthcare is unpredictable, and insurances just want money, while the pharmaceutical companies kill us all after taking our money. Progress, as in standards and responsibilities of hospitals that are federally and state mandated. Dr. Abdellah developed the educational material for helping patients with drug addiction, AIDS, and hospice. Dr. Abdellah had a large role in instituting home healthcare. She was instrumental for the development of DRGs, the system that is used by Medicare. Admiral Abdellah, an almost 40-year Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service from 1949 - 1989 was the first woman and nurse Deputy Surgeon General from 1982 to 1989. Her hard work and dedication helped nursing focus more on the patient. To this day, her Patient Assessment of Care Evaluation is still in use in the USA. Dr. Abdellah has over 70 accommodations for her work in the healthcare sector. less
